We Didn't Set Out to Build a Company. We Set Out to Solve a Problem.
Muninn Modular started the way a lot of good ideas do — with a problem we were tired of dealing with ourselves.
We’re veterans, firearms enthusiasts, and people who have spent years traveling with firearms and mission-critical equipment. Airports, ranges, training, work, road trips — our gear went with us, and we depended on hard cases to protect it.
The cases did their job. The inserts didn’t.
We used the same options everyone else did — pick-and-pluck foam, standard cut foam, and whatever solutions were available. They worked at first, but with real use came the same problems: torn foam, permanent compression, dirt and moisture, poor organization, and inserts that no longer worked when our gear changed.
We kept thinking there had to be a better way.
SO WE STARTED BUILDING.
The idea was simple: create something durable, clean, organized, and built around the equipment we actually carried.
We began experimenting with 3D-printed TPU and quickly realized it gave us something traditional foam couldn’t — structure with flexibility.
It could hold our equipment securely without permanently compressing. It could handle dirt, moisture, oils, and the realities of actual use. It could be cleaned. And most importantly, it allowed us to design the insert around the gear instead of forcing the gear to fit the insert.
We kept designing. We kept printing. We kept testing.
What started as a solution for our own gear kept getting better. Friends saw it. Other shooters saw it. The conversations started with, “Where did you get that?” and quickly turned into, “Can you make one for me?”
That’s when we realized we weren’t the only ones frustrated with the options that were out there.
We had solved a problem for ourselves — and we wanted to share that solution with others.
BUILT FROM EXPERIENCE.
Our military backgrounds shaped the way we approached the problem.
We learned that equipment should have a purpose. It should be organized. It should be dependable. And when you need something, you shouldn’t have to search for it.
Everything should have its place.
That philosophy became the foundation of Muninn Modular. We don’t want to make disposable products or fill a catalog just for the sake of having more things to sell. We want to build equipment we would actually use ourselves — and be proud to hand to someone else.
That means continuing to improve our designs, listening to the people who use them, and building solutions around real equipment and real-world needs.
FROM OUR GEAR TO YOURS.
Muninn Modular is still a grassroots company. We’re building it ourselves — one design, one print, and one customer at a time.
And we don’t want to lose that as we grow.
What started as a solution for our own equipment has become an opportunity to build something for a larger community of people who care about their gear as much as we do.
Shooters. Veterans. First responders. Professionals. Travelers. Outdoorsmen. And anyone else who believes their equipment deserves something better than disposable foam.
We built the first ones because we needed them.
